MARRIAGE MAKEOVER MARRIAGE COACHING
Once upon a time the only place couples went to find help for their marriages was marriage counselling. This is still an excellent option for many couples with big issues to deal with.
At Marriage Makeover we offer an alternative in the form of MARRIAGE COACHING.

WHAT IS MARRIAGE COACHING?
What picture do you “see” when someone says “coach”? Did you think of a football coach, basketball coach or any type of sporting coach? Or , perhaps you thought of a vocal coach, an acting coach or even a tutor to help you with your maths. Today, many people employ business coaches, executive coaches, fitness coaches, spiritual coaches, life coaches or marriage coaches.
Just as a football coach might take on a team of enthusiastic players with potential and transform them into a team that works cohesively, allowing each player to develop their unique talents in a way that benefits the entire team and they become known for their skill, so a marriage coach can take a couple with loads of potential but just not knowing how to bring it together, to a couple that understand each others strengths and build on those to make a powerful marriage.
Marriage Coaching:
-
directs couples toward their future.
-
is about setting goals.
-
is about creating the relationship you want.
-
is about building strengths.
-
is about individual change that will lead to positive couple change.
-
is about avoiding past mistakes and creating a positive framework to build your marriage around.
-
is about learning to take responsibility
-
is about discovering your core values
-
Is all about taking a journey into marriage with a coach by your side.
HOW DO MARRIAGE COACHING SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?
Most marriage coaching takes place by telephone. You phone your coach at a pre-arranged time. This can be with one spouse or with a couple together, providing you have an extension phone or half a session with one spouse and half with the other. Internet access is preferable as sometimes the coach will email a form to you to be used during a session.
For marriage coaching to be effective, we would recommend a minimum commitment of 6 weeks. A “one-off” session will not be of a great deal of benefit as you will build from week to week as you discover things about each other and start putting action to your discoveries.
Some people prefer to use the internet rather than the telephone. Through ICQ we are able to set up a private, simultaneous typed dialogue sessions. In this way you can print and reflect on the sessions later.
For couples in a “crisis” situation we can come to your home for a full day. We will first require some information about your situation. Some couples will need to contact a marriage counsellor. However, if we believe you are ready for our program we will arrange a date as quickly as we can. If you live outside of the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, then we will need to include travelling costs also. We do recommend however, that after a successful full-day intensive that you follow up with coaching.
